Rules for the Use of Group Study Rooms
Only İstinye University students may use the group study rooms located in Vadi Main and Topkapı Libraries.
Group study rooms are available for use 24/7. However, the Library Administration reserves the right to make changes to the dates and hours of use in line with administrative requirements.
Group study rooms may be allocated for a period of two (2) hours to groups of at least three (3) and at most eight (8) people.
It is mandatory for at least three (3) people to be present throughout the use of the group study rooms.
Each student has the right to use the group study rooms once (1) per day.
A user may not make reservations for two different rooms within the same time slot.
In the event of a new reservation being made for another room, the authorized staff member may cancel the reservation due to high demand for room requests.
Group study rooms may be reserved up to three (3) days in advance.
Extension/renewal of reserved rooms may only be made if the room has not been reserved by another user.
The room key for the group study rooms is collected from the Vadi Main and Topkapı Library Information Desk in exchange for an institutional ID card, and after use, the room keys and any equipment belonging to the room must be returned to the library staff.
All group members who will use the group study room are required to submit their ID cards to the staff member.
None of the group members using the group study room may request an extension for the same room for the next two (2) hours.
The noise level in the room must be kept at a level that does not disturb other users or services.
The lights in the group study room must remain on during use.
After use, group study rooms must be left in the same condition as they were received. Furniture and equipment must be used carefully and kept clean, and no damage whatsoever may be caused to the items and equipment in the rooms (such as damaging sockets, writing on doors, walls, or tables, putting up posters, etc.).
Group study rooms must not be used for any purpose other than studying.
Films or videos other than those for educational purposes may not be viewed in group study rooms.
Users are responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings while using the study rooms. The Department of Information Resources and Library is not responsible for incidents such as theft or loss.
Users of the group study rooms must vacate the rooms fifteen (15) minutes before the library closing time.
Rooms may not be locked and left without informing the Information Desk. In such cases, personal belongings may be removed from the room by the staff member.
In the event that the room key is lost, the user may not retrieve their ID card.
In group study rooms, consumption of food, beverages other than water, tobacco products, and alcohol is not allowed. If such a situation is encountered, you will be asked to vacate the room.
Those who damage library materials or property will be referred to the disciplinary committee.
Users must not change the places of the tools and materials in the group study rooms, remove them, or carry them to other rooms.
Rooms must be kept clean and orderly. After use, trash must be disposed of in the trash bin, and tables and chairs must be left neatly arranged.
The user is responsible for returning any publications taken to the room to the Library Information Desk.
While studying in reserved rooms, please do not lock the room doors from the inside for your safety in emergencies.
Group study rooms are periodically inspected by library staff.
In the event of non-compliance with the above-mentioned “Rules for the Use of Group Study Rooms,” users’ rights to use the group study rooms will be revoked. If deemed necessary, study rooms will not be allocated again to those who do not comply with the rules.
İstinye University Library reserves the right to determine the use of its group study rooms.

Room Reservations
Room keys are issued by the librarian at the Vadi Main and Topkapı Library Information Desk in exchange for an ID card.
Reserved rooms are cancelled if they are not claimed within a maximum of fifteen (15) minutes.
All students who make reservations for and use the group study rooms are deemed to have accepted the 'Rules for the Use of Group Study Rooms.' These rules also remain valid for use between 17:00 and 08:00.
